How to Make the Most of Fall in Maine

It’s fall in Maine and that means two things!

1. The leaves are about to change, and create spectacular orange-red views all over the state (for one or two short yet glorious weeks).

2. Winter is coming!

I don’t know about you, but fall always makes me want to get outside for the last few weeks of autumn weather before we’re hit with another Maine winter. Here are a few ways I like to make the most of our brief but beautiful Maine falls!

* Apple Picking!

Grab your L.L. Bean boots and your Reny’s flannel and check out Ricker Hill Orchard in Turner, ME. We have an apple picking customer appreciation event there on Saturday 9/25

* Go to the Drive-In!

I’ve loved going to the drive-in during the summer and fall, pack your favorite movie snack, bundle up and check out what’s playing this weekend at Prides Corner in Westbrook, or at the Saco Drive-In!

* Check out a local brewery!

Maine is home to lots of local brews (craft beers, seltzer’s, coffees – whatever your preference!) Fall is a great time to try out a new spot like Après in Portland, (which we highlighted on this blog last month!) or some of the local Oktoberfest events like the one at Banded Brewing Company in Biddeford!
