Community Spotlight – Hollis

Hollis is a rural bedroom community, home to just under 5,000 people located in York County.  This community is just that.  A community.  The town hosts its annual Community Day which is a great for children and adults alike with concerts, parades, crafts, food and all the fun of a great summer festival.

The town also has an Equestrian Park, The Hollis Freewheelers ATV Club, The Hollis Honkers Snowmobile Club as well as trails and parks for walking and cross-country skiing.  Hollis sits along the Saco River which is the 5th larges river in our state.   As you can see there is plenty to do in Hollis and they love their outdoor actives.  Living in Hollis you will enjoy an easy commute to Portland, Saco-Biddeford or the Sanford areas all within 20 to 30 minutes.  It’s a wonderful place to set roots, build your business or even just visit.

What is a Community Spotlight without a little fun fact?   Hollis, Maine was the summer home of Kate Douglas Wiggin, the author of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.  Her home has been repurposed and is now Salmon Falls Village Library.
